After Platinum in 2022, Kneipp has once again succeeded in achieving the EcoVadis Platinum rating. This means that Kneipp belongs to the top 1% of all companies rated by the world-renowned rating agency also in this year.

Kneipp again among the top 1% in the EcoVadis sustainability rating

With the EcoVadis Platinum Rating, the German headquarters of the Kneipp brand has once again achieved a position in the top group of the largest sustainability rating worldwide. In view of the stricter assessment criteria (compared to the previous year), this is a great success for the company and proof that its investments in its own sustainability commitment are paying off. "Our cross-departmental sustainability team has been in place for over 13 years. This means that sustainability has been in focus at Kneipp from an early stage. However, the topic is never finished. The path to more sustainable solutions is a process of constant improvement and reworking. We don't know today what the best solution will be tomorrow. This also means being courageous and breaking new ground. Our success in external ratings such as EcoVadis shows us that we are pulling the right levers," explains Alexander C. Schmidt, CEO of the Kneipp Group.

Improved performance in environmental and sustainable procurement

The CSR Performance Ranking examines environmental and social practices within the value chain. 21 indicators are evaluated in the areas of environment, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. Kneipp was able to increase last year's result by 5 points to a total of 80 points in the overall evaluation. In the areas of "Environment" and "Sustainable Procurement", the sustainability performance improved by 10 points each. In all areas, Kneipp's performance is thus rated as advanced, in the area of "Environment" even with the best possible performance level as excellent.

The challenge of sustainability: lead, learn, move on

The company has set itself ambitious goals in its sustainability strategy in order to consistently drive forward its own sustainability commitment. These include local climate neutrality in Scope 1 and 2, exclusively through the reduction of CO2 emissions, the increased use of raw materials from organic cultivation and the elimination of petroleum-based plastics in packaging and point-of-sale materials. "As a manufacturer of personal care and health products, the well-being of our consumers is at the heart of our work. Our commitment to sustainability is a fundamental part of this. We are convinced that healthy people and a healthy environment are inseparable," emphasises CEO Alexander C. Schmidt.
